Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILAs)

Staff member painting with an individual with an intellectual disability. For adults with developmental disabilities, our Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA) program means one thing – a home of their own.

Our CILAs are homes and apartments in the community shared by two to four adults with developmental disabilities (age 18 and older).

While the residents are supervised by a professional service provider, these homes give them the comfort and freedom to live as independently as possible.

The CILA home – a nicely-furnished home in a residential neighborhood – is designed to assist eligible clients to live as part of the community rather than in a state institution.

Human Support Services (HSS) currently operates five CILA homes that can accommodate up to 27 adults.

The residents interact much like a family, and staff members are on hand at all times to offer support and care.

Throughout all of our services, individuals are provided with the level of support they need with the goal of promoting independence and developing relationships within the community.
