Since 1973 Human
Support Services has provided an array of day services to adults from
Monroe County with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
Starting off with a staff of only six, this program began as a
Sheltered Workshop for developmentally disabled/mentally retarded
adults in the Parkview School in Columbia.
Today the Day and Work Services Programs offer
a full day of activities Monday through Friday. Individuals and their
families/caregivers can count on the program to provide a safe and
caring environment where persons with mental illness or developmental
disabilities can go to learn skills important to independent living
and vocational development.
